AirDropping is a fantastic way to quickly share a document outside of Google Drive with someone. AirDropping allows you to securely connect to another person’s iPad and share a file with them. To do this you need to first enable Airdrop in your settings. Go to settings and locate the “general” tab. Once in “general,” there will be an “AirDrop” menu item on the right. Select “everyone” for the smoothest AirDrop experience. Once enabled, you can then share a document via AirDrop by choosing the Share or Export option with your file and choosing the AirDrop icon. The list of available devices you can AirDrop to will then show up for you to select the recipient. The recipient must accept the document you send them on their screen. To learn more about this process, please check out Apple Support’s article titled, “How to use AirDrop on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.”
If you’re having trouble with this feature, stop by the IT helpdesk in the Perkins Library. If you have a tip you want to share or think your peers should know about, please submit them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
