Dea, Rogers win SA presidential race

Kaelen Dea and Maggie Rogers will be the Hastings College Student Association (SA) president and vice president, respectively, for the 2019-20 school year. Their victory was announced during Mr. and Ms. Bronco on April 12.

Dea and Rogers ran unopposed.

Dea and Rogers have four platform items for their incumbency.

The first is a improving campus safety by increasing lighting.

The second is to implement an “event point system” that they hope will incentivise students to participate in campus activities. Prizes may be rewarded at the end of the school year to those that have participated in events.

The third is to increase the scale of Grocery Bag Bingo by changing the location and purchasing more groceries.

The fourth is to create a website that has information on SA, including contact information, comment sections and budget requests.

Dea and Rogers will be taking their positions at the last Senate meeting of the year.
