The Hastings College Student Association (SA) held their regularly scheduled bi-weekly budget request meeting on Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. in Wilson Auditorium. Two student groups requested a total of $1,449.82 of the available $48,196 left in the SA unallocated fund.
After approval of the last meeting’s minutes and discussion of progress reports on SA committees, Senate moved to open new business and approve funding requests.
The SA Special Events Committee requested $787 for events involving candle and bath scrub-making, ornament-making and succulent-potting. The student group also requested funds to pay the designer of the Homecoming shirts distributed during and after Homecoming Week. Senate approved the request in full.
The Student Health Advisory Council requested $662.82 for their “Tooth Booth” event. This event will be used to promote oral health awareness on campus. Senate approved the request in full.
A total of $1,449.82 was approved and $46,746.18 remains in the SA unallocated fund for the rest of the fall semester. The next SA Senate meeting date and time will be determined and announced once a new meeting time is finalized.
